My daughter loves dresses. I think I better say that she adores dresses. The girl is a girlie girl. I was not and still not a girlie girl. Granted, I can dress up and look good with the best of them. But I can also get down and dirty and down right dirty when I need to.
I saw this pattern in the spring 2008 issue of Interweave mag. It was perfect for her. I even let her pick out the colors (pink, purple and yellow) that was predictable. It’s the same any time I let her pick colors. Like I said she’s definately a girl. So here’s the first part of it. It’s looking good.
I think I’m going to do the work on the placket, collar and sleeves now. The dress is long and flared so there’s going to be a lot of material to manuever around if I wait till the end. The placket, collar and sleeve bindings are going to be a variegated pastel cotton yarn. It’s beautiful in my opinion.
The yarn I bought at my LYS at her wonderful sale… for the first 10 customers on sale day received 40% off. Yes, I was the 2nd person in line 1 1/2 hours before the sale started. I was so excited. I love yarn and I love sales and both just get me so excited. I was at the store for 3 hours (after the doors opened) petting all the yarn. My husband called to make sure I was ok.
He loves me and my obsession. I love him. It’s a perfect combination.
