My daughter is five. She has never had a hair cut. She’s been asking every once in a while to get her hair cut. Last Thursday I asked her if she really wanted to get her hair cut. She said yes. So I explained to her Locks of Love. She thought that was a great idea ( we often donate our old clothes and toys to a local charity so she was familiar with helping people who don’t have what we have). I measured her hair to make sure she had enough to donate. And we cut 14″ of hair off. We could probably done about 2 more inches but I didn’t want her to look like a boy. She now looks 2 years older and cute as a button. She loves her new cut but I often find her trying to reach around and grab the length. She’s happy, I’m happy.
It’s been a strange spring. I have been able to work more on my daughters dress because I have been traded to “home mom” rather than “work mom”. I work as a mortgage consultant (loan officer). And lately it’s been the worst of the worst calling me to try to borrow money. I live in FL. And yes we are the 2nd in the nation in foreclosures. (yeah guys, way to go!!! Just another thing to make FL look bad!) The days are gone of 100% financing and fudging your income (why would you want to do that anyway? That’s why we are 2nd in foreclosures!) The banks have tightened their criteria on lending money and it seems people who shouldn’t consider adding to their debt are trying to buy homes. Yes it is a good time to buy a house because prices are low but if you can’t afford it. Why waste everyone’s time. Anyway, enough ranting. I feel bad because I want to work. There’s just nothing going on. So I’m back to being “home mom”. Which is great to get projects done around the house just no money
to do the projects.
So back to the “I’m getting more done on my daughter’s dress” part. I have just 2 more sections to do. Of course they are 2 sections of 21 rows each with over 350 stitches in each row. So you can do the math. It’s long and boring. Mostly done while the kids are playing outside or at night while the tv’s on. The next pictures will be of the done project I’m sure.
